Right on the heels of Leica’s limited edition Lenny Kravitz camera kit comes the German camera-maker’s new M-P ‘Safari’ special edition set, which comprises a digital rangefinder camera in olive green safari-look and a fast Leica Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH lens in silver chrome finish. The camera is limited to only 1,500 sets worldwide.
Appearing in a striking olive green colour, the top deck and baseplate of the Leica M-P camera body are finished in a resilient enamel coating that offers comfortable grip and gives the camera a unique look. Other interesting touches on the camera include a colour-matched, olive green leather trim, silver chrome controls and the engravings ‘Leica Camera AG’ and ‘Wetzlar Germany’ on the top plate in classic Leica script.
The contents of the Leica M-P ‘Safari’ set also include a premium-quality carrying strap in Cognac-coloured full-grain cowhide and a colour-matched case for business and credit cards. Crafted from the same finest-quality leather as the strap, the case has an additional compartment for up to three SD memory cards.
Internally, the Leica M-P ‘Safari’ edition offers all the technical advantages of the Leica digital rangefinder system cameras and possesses the same enduring qualities of the Leica M-System. As for the Leica Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH lens, it is distinguished by its excellent sharpness, high contrast and exemplary resolution at all aperture and distance settings. Despite its high speed and exceptional imaging performance, it remains an astoundingly compact lens. Fitted with this
35 mm lens, the Leica M-Camera immediately becomes an extremely compact and versatile photographic tool. CS
